Our Waterloo
Donald Trump unilaterally started a war of choice that he was warned against pursuing. He did not ask, or even inform, Congress about the apparently spur-of-the moment decision. He did not listen to military advisors who told him that the Iranians would close the Strait of Hormuz (because nobody knows better than him).
The Iran War has no strategy, no objective, and is about to involve ground troops that will be killed in action for Trump’s folly. Just because the man is incapable of admitting when he has made a mistake. Now, it appears that the war will expand for the same reason it started: Trump’s malignant narcissism.
And now there are reports that he is “tired of the war.” He is looking for a way out, to escape scrutiny without accepting the blame for the war, because he is incapable of accepting the blame for anything.
He has the intellect of a child. He is unable to process any concept in detail beyond the superficial layer of fantasy he lives in. And as is widely known, he has no capacity for empathy, because it is all about him.
And this deeply flawed man is president of the United States.
